Obituary for Arbutus Blankenship Mullins McClanahan

Arbutus Blankenship Mullins McClanahan, age 76, of the section of Panther Ridge Road, Grundy, Virginia, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.

Born June 10, 1946, at Blackey, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Burl Blankenship and Gracie Jones Blankenship. Arbutus was a member of the Mary Lou Old Regular Baptist Church. She enjoyed talking to her friends on the phone, listening to the Old Regular Baptist singing, and preaching on her tablet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Farley Mack Mullins; second husband, Everette McClanahan; one son, Lloyd Mullins; sisters, Shirley Love, Lois Blankenship, Ida Mae Lawson, and Yuvon Roberts; one brother, Franklin Dee; and three brothers-in-law, Harrison Howell, Glen Blankenship, and David Lawson.

She is also survived by her special friends: Naomi Davis, Harriet Mullins, Carol Keene, and Velda Arnette.

Funeral services for Arbutus McClanahan will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022,12:00 Noon at the Mary Lou Old Regular Baptist Church, Panther Ridge Road, Grundy, Virginia, with Jackie Yates, Gary Estep, Stanley Stacy, and Bill McCoy officiating. The singing will be officiated by George Baker. Burial will follow in the Mary Lou Cemetery, Panther Ridge Road, Grundy, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6:00 P.M. at the church. A service will be held at 7:00 P.M.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
