Dewey Stanley Keene, age 63 of Grundy, Virginia passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022, in the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.

Born September 15, 1958, in Grundy, Virginia, he was the son of the late Dewey Keene and Jenny Ward Keene. He was an employee of the Norfolk and Southern Railroad, retiring after 39 Years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Matthew Todd Keene; brothers, Arnold Keene and Denny Keene; sisters, Lenore Marcus and Shirley Marshall.

Funeral services for Dewey Stanley Keene will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia with Eugene Whited, Dennis Wimmer, and Lester Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Lester Cemetery, Panther Ridge Road, Grundy, Virginia.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home. A service will be held at 7:00 P.M.

Serving as pallbearers will be Barry White, Lester Boyd, Josh Viars, WT Hedrick, Steve “Hollywood” Bowman, Charles Viars, and his railroad buddies.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Clint Sutherland and Dr. Gerald Blackwell.
