Obituary for Donald Gay Harris, Jr.
Donald Gay Harris, Jr. age 76, of Grundy, Virginia, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, at his home.
Born June 13, 1946, in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Donald Raymond Harris, Sr. and Lula Jean Bills Harris. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and a lifelong resident of Buchanan County. He was a former coal miner, mechanic, and enjoyed working on old cars. He loved spending time with his family and special friend, Sonny Stacy.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Donnie Dwayne Harris; one sister, Cindy Huffman; three brothers, Lonnie Harris, Ronnie Harris, and Orman Harris; and one great-grandson, Benjamin Gerald Cooper Goins.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home, where a service will be held at 7:00 P.M.
A funeral service for Donald Gay Harris, Jr. will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, 1:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel with James Stacy, Bill McCoy, Steve Baker, and Ivan Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith-Justus Cemetery, Lesters Fork Road, Grundy, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Harris, Franklin Looney, James Lester, Adam Looney, Andrew Justus, William Justus, Donald Sears, Nicholas Harris, Jeffrey Watkins, Mike Watkins, Elijah Salyers, family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Stacy and Jimmy Blankenship.
