Obituary for Earnest "Tab" Layne
Earnest “Tab” Layne, age 43 of Wytheville, Virginia, passed away at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital on August 14, 2021. Born September 24, 1977, in Pikeville, Kentucky, he was the son of Earnest Charles Layne and Mary Jane Hilton Layne.
He was a certified electrician and worked for Wythe Sheet Metal. He was of the Christian Faith and was baptized in 2019. He loved fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Charles Layne.

He is also survived by his two nephews, Michael Lee and wife Savannah of Richlands, Virginia and Cody Lee of Richlands, Virginia.
There will be a service for Earnest “Tab” Layne at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 16, 2021, 7:00 P.M., officiated by Mike Rife. The family will receive friends at 6:00 P.M.
A funeral service for Earnest “Tab” Layne will be held at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 1:00 P.M., officiated by Steve Lane.
Burial will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
Virginia Funeral Home of Grundy, Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
