Jim Christian, age 73 of Hurley, Virginia passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at his home.

Born November 1, 1949, at Hurley, Virginia, he was the son of the late Charlie Christian and Nomel Bryant Christian. He was a retired coal truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Vance Christian; one son, Billy Christian; brothers, Sherman Christian and Ernie Christian; one sister, Ruby Nell Smith; and one grandson, Marcos Christian.

Funeral services for Jim Christian will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, 12:00 Noon at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia with Eugene Whited and Truitt Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery, Hoover Camp Road, Hurley, Virginia.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home. A service will be held at 7:00 P.M.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
