Johnny Lee Dotson, age 69 of Hurley, Virginia passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at his home.
Born April 11, 1953, in Richlands, Virginia, he was the son of the late Carson Dotson, Jr. and Frankie Justus Dotson. He was a retired Construction worker.
Johnny was an avid reader. He was a fan of the New York Jets and enjoyed working puzzles, loved music, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Rife Dotson; one sister, Donna Sue Dotson; one brother, Jackie Dotson; and one niece, Carmen Smith Matney.

Funeral services for Johnny Lee Dotson will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, 12:00 Noon at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia, with Tommy Conn officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Virginia.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home. A service will be held at 7:00 P.M., with Eugene Whited officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
