Obituary for Mamie Lou Thomas Lee
Mamie Lou Thomas Lee, age 93, of Rock Lick, Big Rock, Virginia, went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, March 3, 2023.
She was born October 26, 1929, in Wilder, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Thomas, born August 19, 1900, and Martha Duty Thomas, born September 16, 1907. She was a homemaker and a member of the Big Rock Church of Christ. She graduated from Grundy High School in 1948, and taught school for the Buchanan County School Board. She married Kenneth Edward Lee on September 2, 1950, at Clintwood, Virginia, and they were married until his death on January 11, 2018.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Alan Lee of Salisbury, Maryland; one sister, Geraldine “Jewel” Thomas; two brothers, Homer Thomas and wife Maggie of Vansant, Virginia, and Ernest Thomas and wife Norma Jean of Bristol, Tennessee; and one granddaughter, Alicia Dawn Lee of Salisbury, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Jean Thomas of Meadowview, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home, Grundy, Virginia, where a service will be held at 7:00 P.M.
A funeral service for Mamie Lou Lee will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, 1:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia, with Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
