Obituary for Maxine Davis
Maxine Davis age 81 of Paynesville, West Virginia passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, Virginia.
Born April 10, 1940, in Pikeville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Baker and Zettie Williamson Baker. Maxine was owner and operator of Mountain Top Grocery at Paynesville, West Virginia for several years. She was wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a well loved woman and a hard worker. She loved cooking, cleaning, and caring for her family. Maxine was a member of the Crossview
Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Burl Stacy, Harvey Baker, Jimmy Wolford, Jean Vance, Lloyd Baker, Sue Baker, Rosella “Tiny” Mullins, Edith Vance, Viola Cantrell, Rosie Vance, Martha Baker and Junior Baker.

Funeral services for Maxine Davis will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, 1:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia with Hobert Kennedy and Charlie Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Davis Cemetery, Davis Ridge Road, Grundy, Virginia.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening August 12, 2021, 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home with a service to follow at 7:00 P.M.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
