Obituary for Shirley Matney
Shirley Matney, age 73, of Hurley, Virginia passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at her home.
Born December 8, 1948, in Hurley, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Justus and Mary Bell Kennedy Justus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Matney; daughter, Mary Marie Hawkins; and several brothers and sister. Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services for Shirley Matney will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church, Guesses Fork Road, Hurley, Virginia, with Burial to follow in the Matney Cemetery, Guesses Fork Road, Hurley, Virginia, with David Lester, Danny Hurley, Danny McCoy, and Elders of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, 6:00 P.M. at the church. A service will be held at 7:00 P.M.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
