Obituary for Wayne Baker
Wayne Baker, age 81, of Louisa, Virginia died Saturday, October 30, 2021, at his residence. Born September 4, 1940, he was the son of the late Jink Baker and Eva Justus Baker.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Stella Mae Baker; two daughters, Polly Baker and Shelia; a brother, Dale Baker; and two sisters, Florence and Laura.
Mr. Baker ran his own construction company for many years. He loved to hunt, fish, and camp in Bath County with his family and friends. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, and he will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Wayne is survived by his son, Jeffrey Wayne Baker; a brother, George Baker; a sister, Nancy Fugitt; his granddaughter, Chelsey Marie Baker; three great-grandchildren, Blake Albert Cochran, Ownen Edward King, and Hannah Reyenne King. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Wayne Baker was held Thursday, November 4, 2021, 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville, Virginia.
A visitation for Wayne Baker will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia, where a service will be held at
7:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home, Grundy, Virginia, with Steve Baker, Ivan Blankenship, Stanley Stacy, and all Elders of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will follow in the Baker-McCoy Cemetery, Squire Branch Road, Grundy, Virginia.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
