Wayne Shortridge, age 70 of Hurley, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at the Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Grundy, Virginia.

Born May 6, 1952, in Grundy, Virginia, he was the son of the late Clarence Shortridge and Susie Justice Shortridge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Margaret, brothers: Dean Shortridge, Junior Shortridge, Billy Ray Shortridge, and Henry Franklin Shortridge.

Funeral services for Wayne Shortridge will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia, with David Lester, Danny Hurley, and Will Matney officiating. Burial will follow in the Stacy Cemetery, Old Guesses Fork Road, Hurley, Virginia.

The family will receive friends Sunday night 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home
Chapel. A service will be held at 7:00 P.M.

Serving as pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
