Obituary for William Gilbert Horn
In the early hours of July 21, 2022, William Gilbert Horn age 94 of Paynesville, West Virginia passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Gilbert was born February 19, 1928, in Paynesville, West Virginia to the late William Preston Horn and Della Wagner Horn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mullins Horn of 72 years who passed away April 19, 2021; his son, Jerry K. Horne who passed away December 5, 2021; brothers, Clarence, Lonze, Raymond; and sisters, Orpha, Ocie, and Rose.
Gilbert was an electrician for Island Creek Coal company and Consol Coal. After his retirement, he and Edna loved traveling and spending winters in Florida. He was a true family man who loved members of his and Edna’s family.

Funeral services for William Gilbert Horn will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022, 12:00 Noon at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia with Elders Jack Horne, Phil Flanary, and Travis Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Everett Mullins Cemetery, Paynesville, West Virginia.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 24, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral at 12:00 Noon. Family may visit from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Serving as pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
